Everything around us is waking up NOW… What is calling you? Do you long to feel your spirit, reclaim your spark, and feel your feet root deeply into the earth? To connect with your deepest creativity, to dance and sing? To find a new direction?
If you want to begin creating the life you long for – one that is more alive and authentically YOU – then I have something for you. Here are a few words and an art-therapeutic exercise from The Art of Self-Healing cards to help open you up to what is calling you – your true calling.
"Instead, create a clearing in the dense forest of your life and wait there patiently, until the song that is yours alone to sing falls into your open, cupped hands and you recognize and greet it. Only then will you know how to give yourself to the world so worthy of rescue."
― Martha Postlethwaite, American poet, author, and pastor in the recovery movement
Here is the exercise to connect you with your spirit and your calling – it takes about 15 minutes:
A calling is a life purpose that you take on because a strong inner drive within you calls you to it – not just for success or money. A calling is a way of expressing your soul in the world, a way of offering your unique gift to life.
-
Draw three overlapping circles.
-
In the first circle, write a few words (or make a small drawing) about the activities or tasks that truly awaken your curiosity and make you feel alive and excited.
-
In the second circle, write about everything you feel should be done in the world. Where do you see a real need? What could genuinely help the world?
-
In the third circle, write about what you know you are good at – both what you feel skilled at and what others have repeatedly recognized in you.
Now, in the central space where all three circles overlap – the shape in geometry called a Reuleaux triangle – write about what is repeated in all three circles.
What do you love to do that the world needs and that you are good at? Could this be your calling?
You’ll find many exercises like this in the cards, available in now.
With love,
Karin
